WHAT IS LPG?
Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) is an environmentally friendly fuel. In this country it is comprised mainly of propane. It is a by-product of the petroleum industry and is also found in natural gas.
When the gas is held under a moderate pressure it becomes a liquid and in this form can easily be stored.

THE SAFE ALTERNATIVE
In terms of combustion LPG is similar to petrol. However, because LPG is stored under pressure, the vehicle tank is much stronger. Indeed, an LPG tank can survive far greater impacts than either petrol or diesel tanks.
FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS
There is a significant financial advantage in switching to LPG as a fuel. The rate at which excise duty is levied is very much lower for LPG compared with petrol and diesel. Furthermore, duty on LPG as a road fuel has been consistently reduced over recent years, and the Government is committed to increasing the duty gap between petrol, diesel and cleaner gas fuels.
